Mto wa Mbu (meaning “River of Mosquitoes” in Swahili) is a vibrant multicultural village at the gateway to Lake Manyara. Activities: 8:30 AM pickup from Arusha/Moshi. Drive to Mto wa Mbu (approx. 1.5h). Meet your local guide and begin a relaxed walk through the village. Stroll past banana plantations, small farms, and homes. Learn about the diverse cultures and daily life. Stop at a local brewery to see how banana beer (lager) is made – and enjoy a taste. Continue to a crafts cooperative where you can watch woodcarvers and painters at work.

Activities: Join a traditional cooking session using fresh ingredients from the farm. Prepare dishes like ugali, sukuma wiki, and maybe a local curry. Enjoy the meal together with your host family. Afterwards, take a short hike or bike ride (optional) to a scenic viewpoint overlooking Lake Manyara and the Rift Valley. Late afternoon, begin your drive back, arriving in Arusha/Moshi around 6:00 PM.
